This is mainly due to the fundamental role women play in transmitting Berber language and culture through rituality, orality and art.
The Berber rituals revolve around healing, fertility, worship, lamentation and life cycles. The rituals, which can be public or private, are intended to bring personal and communal satisfaction regarding religious enactment, spirituality, emotional needs, reinforcement of family and social bonds, achievement of pedagogical goal.
