Introducing our new piece ‘Ra’ inspired by Ra- The Sun God from Egyptian mythology. Ra was one of the most important God’s in Egyptian mythology. The piece illustrates ‘Aten’- a sun disk with rays which end in hands and Aten was a form of the sun God Ra.

Ancient Egyptians worshipped Ra, a falcon-headed God who carried the sun disk on his headdress. Every day, Ra would cross the sky in "solar boats." The sun played a very important role in ancient Egyptian life. It was responsible for life, light, and warmth. It was natural then, given the vital functions of the sun, that a culture might begin to worship it in the form of a God

The ancient Egyptians worshiped Ra more than any other god and pharaohs often connected themselves with Ra in their efforts to be seen as the earthly embodiment of the Sun God. The use of light and shadows helped in creating halls filled with sacredness in many temples; but most of all the Sun was the visible face of Ra, the Sun God. The piece ‘Ra’ is an ode to sunlight that has a special role in everyone’s life. Sun represents life, strengthen, vitality and power.
