One of the oldest forms of jewelry in the sub-continent, is Kundan jewelry. Celebrated for its royal and magnificent appearance and masterful crafting.
Kundan is a form of gemstone and glass jewelry that is set between gold foils. Its defining features are its precious and semi-precious polished gemstones that are set in layers upon layers of beautiful shapes and patterns The sub-continent's obsession with jewelry began with the advent of Indus Valley civilization more than 5000 years ago, and since then numerous styles of jewelry making have been created and mastered.
For this piece we have combined Kundan with Hoop earrings. Hoops traces back to 4th century Africa. They were an important accessory for Egyptians as well as with the Hmong women of Vietnam and the Gadaba tribe of India. In recent times, the hoops style has often been significant among women of color in an effort to reclaim their culture and celebrate their history
